Chapters or collected volumes?
Comikey offers licensed digital chapters. VIZ publishes the English volumes and links to book retailers.
Preview availability, paid access and regional restrictions depend on the platform. A preview does not make the full series free.
The story is complete.
The editions differ.
Comikey marks the series Completed. Its main-story numbering reaches Chapter 79, with the final chapter split into 79.1 and 79.2. The catalogue’s 83 reading entries are not 83 original main chapters; the list also contains split and extra entries.

Is this your
kind of romance?
Start here if a desperate marriage bargain, a dangerous love interest and a heroine negotiating for her survival appeal to you. Satoko’s family obligations and heart condition are part of the opening premise; Shinpei’s willingness to kill is central to the tension.
You may enjoy the opening if…
You like historical settings, high-stakes attraction, morally troubling relationships and humor amid danger.
Approach with care if…
You want gentle everyday romance or relationships free of threats and coercion. The opening contains kidnapping, bloody violence and sexual threat.
These starting notes are based on the opening chapters and the official premise. They do not rate the ending or promise a particular romantic outcome.

Shogakukan’s final Japanese volume advertises bonus material and a newly written short episode. That volume is listed for October 19, 2026 and was not yet released at this guide’s check.
We have not verified an English edition of all that material. Comikey’s extra entries and bonus pages in collected volumes should not be assumed to contain identical content.

The anime is early in its run. We have not verified a reliable episode-to-chapter continuation point. Begin at Chapter 1 to follow the original pacing and context, even if you have watched the premiere.
For another series with a related premise, our next-read guide separates dangerous romance from historical marriage and shows which completion claims the publishers support.
