PREMISE ONLY · NO PLOT SPOILERSIn Meiji-era Japan, noblewoman Satoko Kirigaya lives with a heart condition and a future already being decided for her. When she is kidnapped, she makes a desperate offer to the assassin Shinpei Goto: marriage.
He takes her at her word. What begins as an attempt to stay alive becomes a romantic suspense story about a promise neither of them can easily escape.
Expect violence, kidnapping and an obsessive relationship. The premise is dark; this guide keeps later plot developments out of view.
